Facility information identifies the location or facility relevant to billing. It is not the same thing as a local schedule label or place-of-service code.
What to do #
- Open the correct charge or billing context.
- Review the facility associated with the service.
- Confirm the facility record and address/identifiers as applicable.
- Compare the place-of-service value separately.
- Correct only verified facility information.
Verify before you finish #
- The facility matches where the service was represented as performed.
- Facility and provider information were not confused.
- Place of service was reviewed separately.
Important
A facility, a schedule location, and a place-of-service code are related concepts but not interchangeable fields.
