Deleting an Appointment #
Deleting an appointment removes scheduling information and can have different operational consequences from marking an appointment canceled. Use deletion only when your practice’s workflow calls for it and the current Phoenix screen provides that option.
Before you begin #
- Confirm the appointment is genuinely the one that should be removed.
- Consider whether a canceled status would better preserve scheduling history.
- Follow your practice’s policy before deleting scheduling records.
What to do #
- Open or select the existing appointment.
- Verify the patient, date, time, and resource/provider.
- Use the appointment deletion control available in your current Phoenix setup only when deletion is appropriate.
- Respond carefully to any confirmation message.
- Refresh or review the schedule and confirm the appointment is gone.

Verify before you finish #
- The intended appointment was removed.
- No neighboring appointment was affected.
- The reason for deleting rather than canceling is consistent with practice policy.
Important
Deletion is not interchangeable with cancellation. If the deletion control or its effect is unclear in your Phoenix version, stop and verify the workflow before removing the appointment.
